Searching for the Perfect Cup of Coffee – Part II

Back on January 4th I went on and on about my search for a perfect cup of coffee. Forget all that. I have refined my search and have found the perfect combination!

If you have a single serve coffee maker, you will need the following:

*Dark roast coffee (I have been using Martinson’s dark roast or Chock Full O’ Nuts New York)
*A blender
*Measuring spoons
*Refillable coffee baskets

Dump the can of coffee into the blender and blend on medium (or higher) for about 5 minutes, or until the grounds have been pulverized to powder (or nearly so).

Using the measuring spoons, put 2 level tablespoons plus 1 level teaspoon of the pulverized grounds into the reusable coffee basket.

Brew.

The instructions above are for an 18-20 oz mug. I have no idea how to brew it for a smaller cup, but I would guess that if you are using a 12 oz cup, you would use half the amount of coffee in the basket. If you are using a smaller cup than that, you aren’t even a coffee drinker and you might as well give it up! (just kidding) Bottoms up!
