Nature Study

I have been noticing the lack of bird nests and squirrel nests in the trees around where I live. Usually, when I go for my walk, I take notice of nests. There aren’t many this year. Also, there are few squirrels and lots of acorns. That doesn’t seem to make sense. My yard used to be wall-to-wall squirrels, but this year I think I’ve seen very few. And there still are robins in the area.

What does it all mean? I haven’t a clue, but the change from the norm is very noticeable.
