Post Season Baseball

Photo
Tug and barge on the Cape Cod Canal. That's the railroad bridge they are going under. When the train hauling the Cape Cod trash needs to cross the canal, the bridge lowers to grade level allowing the train to go over—then it goes up again to allow canal traffic to go through. Just like the bridges over the Erie Canal.

How sweet it is!
The Yankees lost to the Cleveland Gnats last night. That’s right-the gnats. After Pettitte started to unravel (as predicted by me!) Joba Chamberlain came in and so did the Lake Erie gnats—swarming the field and driving everyone crazy. Bug spray did no good. Cleveland wins 3-2.
Over in Boston, the Angels didn’t have to deal with gnats. Boston has Manny. He and Ortiz have not been as effective this year as last. Both of them seem to have lost some of their pop. However, last night Manny had a 3-run walk off homer to take the game 6-3. So Boston goes to Los Angeles 2-0, and New York comes home 0-2. ☺ ☺ ☺

The weekend is here

Today is Heritage Day in town and I think I will ride my bike up to Olde Main Street later this morning to see what’s going on. If there is a chance to get into any of the old homes (without having to mortgage my own) I would like to do that.

Tomorrow I'm planning to ride the Windsor Locks/Suffield canal tow path with Bonnie. From there I plan to go to Colchester where the Land Trust is sponsoring a walking tour of a dairy farm. We'll see, when the weekend is over, how much of this I really did.
